Some sad news, our cousin Kevin’s son, Trace O. Roper passed away earlier this month.

Teen dies in ATV crash near Kamas

A 15-year-old boy died Saturday in an ATV accident near Kamas. Trace O. Roper was riding alone on Democrat Alley when he went off the right side of the road, fell down an embankment and landed in an irrigation ditch with the vehicle falling on top of him, according to Summit County sheriff’s deputies. He was found by his father and brother less than a mile from his home.

1988 ~ 2003

Trace Roper, age 15, Kamas, Utah, passed away in Kamas after an ATV accident.

He was born May 6, 1988 in Salt Lake City, the son of Kevin and Cindy Roper, the fifth of six children. Trace loved life and had many close friends. He had a special passion for snowboarding and skateboarding. He loved to draw and aspired to one day become an architect.

Trace was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and active in scouting where he was ready to begin his Eagle Scout project. He had also planned on serving a full-time mission at age 19.

Trace is survived by his parents (Kamas); brothers, Blake (Cheryl), Provo, Brandon, SLC, Christopher, Provo, Casey, Kamas; sister, Kensey, SLC; grandparents, Arna and Max Harding, SLC, Margene Jacobson, Mesquite, Wally Jacobson, Evanston.

Services Tues. Oct 7, 2003, noon at Kamas Ward Chapel, 100 W. 100 S. Friends may call Tues. 10-11:45 a.m. Interment, Marion Cemetery.
