Isaac Morley & The Manti Temple

We just arrived back in town after a quick trip to Delta, Utah for Dan’s (Michele’s brother) wedding. Dan married Tiffany, a VERY nice girl from Sutherland. The married was performed in the Manti Temple.

I noticed an item of Isaac Morley’s on display just before the recommend desk on the way out. I had heard from a few people about this, but it was neat to see it for myself. The plaque mentioned that this was one of the first made in the church. Unfortunately I didn’t write down the rest of the information and now can’t remember it, including who donated it to the Church.

If you search on this site for Diantha Morley Billings you’ll find a very interesting related tidbit.

We drove to Delta through Nephi and then down. I didn’t take time to look closely at the map before we left. We were also pressed for time. I look forward when we can be back and have a family history trip to see many places including Fayette, Huntington (east over the mountains) and many other places. We’ll be able to spend more time next time we travel through when Michele is not expecting.

Photo Indentified

Richard Wilstead left a comment with more information on Peggy & Deloris’ “Wilstead home photo“.

I’ve also been fixing a number of different little problems since converting the weblog. Authors for various articles should now be attributed correctly. Uploading jpg photos now generates thumbnail link code.

Fixed the sort order for the Surnames (categories). They are now alphabetized.

Unidentified Photos

Just a reminder that in February Laura contributed unidentified photos. We’re hoping that visitors to the website will help us identify the photos. Any hints that may have been overlooked and other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

These photos were with Francell Larsen Hansen Family photos, who grew up in Moroni, Utah and moved to Fountain Green, Utah when she got married. Her husband was Robert Earl Hansen son of Hans Christen Hansen Bogh and Caroline Marie Jensen. Her parents were Lawrence Larson and Clara Bruno. If you identify any one in the photo please let us know.

Deved Collection Alphabetical Listing PO272

This is an alphabetical listing of the collection we received from the Thorne studio in Vernal Utah. When the collection was received, it contained an index to most of the photographs in the collection. However, due to the size of the collection and the number of people involved with it, the spelling of names and places may not be entirely correct. Because the index was handwritten, there was quite a broad margin for error. This listing is as complete and correct as was possible, given the circumstances and time involved.

This would be a good collection to investigate in the future. Silva Arbutus Roper was my dad’s cousin. I wonder if she is the same as the Arbutus below?

New Items

I just posted a few items that I’ve had for a while, but didn’t want to make public. One of the features I like about WordPress (the new weblog software) is that an individual entry can be protected by a keyword. Although these entries are not completely secure the protection is adequate to keep this information private.

Please contact me for the keyword (password) I’m using to protect these entries.
